Pet Daycare

Pet Daycare

Doggie Daycare provides a safe, enjoyable place for your dog to spend his or her day while you are away from home. We offer daycare options for dogs of all ages, dogs that love to play with others, and dogs that prefer to play with humans-only. We do not restrict daycare for any dog based on breed or sex.

Socializing your puppy with new people, places, and other dogs is vital to raising a well-adjusted adult dog.  Doggie daycare can also be a great outlet for energy and provides the exercise that all dogs require. Doggie daycare at VRPC provides an environment where dogs can experience all of that under the supervision of trained Animal Caretakers.

Play/Rest Sessions:

We have two outdoor yards (large dog yard & small dog yard) that are utilized for playtime during Doggie Daycare.  Both yards are securely fenced in and contain toys and other play equipment to enrich your dog’s daycare experience. Daycare participants also have access to water at all times.

All daycare participants that are well-socialized with other dogs are eligible to participate in social playgroups.  We separate dogs into small groups (2-8 dogs per group) based on size and temperament.  Each group participates in an AM play session starting around 9:30 am and a PM session starting around 2:00 pm. The duration of each groups’ time outside is dependent on the weather and how many dogs we have on that day.  Playgroups are always supervised by one of our Animal Care Technicians.  During rest sessions, your dog will spend downtime in a 3×6 run with his or her playgroup of friends.

We can also provide daycare services if your dog does not get along with other dogs or you would prefer him or her to not participate in group play. Your dog will have an AM session and a PM session to enjoy one-on-one attention and playtime with one of our Animal Care Technicians.  The duration of each session outside is dependent on the weather and how many dogs we have in daycare that day. During rest sessions, your dog will spend downtime in a private kennel.

Reservations:

We highly recommend making reservations ahead of time for doggie daycare. During certain times of the year, we do experience limited availability, and for some holidays we may close daycare due to the high number of overnight patients. Please note that reservations are not taken or valid during the dates that daycare is closed. We do create a calendar at the beginning of each year that will highlight the likely availability and closures for the year. Please inquire with the receptionist if you would like a copy of the calendar or there is a link at the top.

Required Vaccinations:

For your pet’s protection and that of the other daycare attendants vaccinations are required:

PUPPIES: at least two boosters of distemper/parvo, and one booster of Bordetella and Influenza.

Depending on the patient’s age, other vaccinations may be needed as well.

ADULT DOGS: Distemper/parvo, Rabies, Bordetella, and Influenza

It is recommended that your adult dog has had a Fecal test and Heartworm test within the past year, however, it is not required for Doggie Daycare.

VRPC Doggie Daycare Release:

We will do our best to ensure that your puppy’s visit is a safe and happy one. We select playgroups based on the same size and temperament. However, you must be aware that there is always the possibility that an injury could occur from rough play. A release form must be signed for each patient prior to participation in VRPC Doggie Daycare.

Feeding:

Should your dog require feeding during Doggie Daycare, we would be happy to provide a meal or you can bring one from home.  Dogs requiring a meal during the day will be separated from the playgroup during mealtime.

Medications:

We are able to accommodate administering medications to your pet during his or her day at Doggie Daycare.  We do require that you fill out a Medication Form at arrival, please allow a few extra minutes to check-in.

There is a charge of $2.50 – $5.00 for this service.
